Last Thursday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned the public about the cyclospora outbreak that is connected to Fresh Express Salads sold at McDonald’s restaurants.

The FDA’s warning about the cyclospora outbreak came after the agency conducted several lab tests confirming the presence of cyclospora in the salads.

Based on the FDA’s findings, there are 395 cases of cyclospora connected to the Fresh Express Salads sold at McDonald’s restaurants located in 15 states.

The 15 states where the salads are no longer served are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

During the early part of July 2018, the FDA warned McDonald’s about the presence of cyclospora in the Fresh Express Salads sold at McDonald’s restaurants.

As a result of the warning, McDonald’s stopped selling the Fresh Express Salads to their customers.

On July 20, 2018, McDonald’s issued a statement saying, “The health and safety of our customers and the people who work in McDonald’s restaurant is always our top priority…McDonald’s is committed to the highest standards of food safety and quality and we continue to cooperate and support regulatory and public health officials in their investigations.”

Clycosporiasis is a really, really, really bad virus to get because it gives you the shits.

It also makes you throw up a lot, gives you aches all over, and makes you weak.

The good news is you’ll survive the many number twos you’ll be taking, you’ll eventually stop throwing up, and your aches and pains will go away.

Cyclosporiasis is one of those viruses that passes on its own. And if it doesn’t, you can always go to the doctor and get yourself some antibiotics to knock the virus out.

Now, I haven’t heard anything about the virus killing anybody. That’s not to say you can’t shit yourself to death.

All of that shitting makes you lose a lot of electrolytes and fluid. So staying hydrated, drinking Gatorade and water, will definitely help you out.

But y’all get the point, chances of y’all dying from massive shits, vomits, and or headaches caused by cyclospora are slim to none.

Most folks get better within a couple of weeks, while it may take a month or longer for the virus to pass in other folks.

Just know that if you are shitting more than often, it’s best that you go to the doctor to see if there is something causing you to have back to back to back shits.

Folks get cyclosporiasis whenever they eat food or drink water that has in it the grown up parasite that causes the virus.

In order to decrease your chances of getting back-to-back-to-back number twos, wash your hands and your food.

As for McDonalds, weeelll, cyclospora isn’t the company’s only problem.

In Canada, a McDonald’s worker placed cleaning fluid in a customer’s latte.

The customer notified health services which sent an inspector down to McDonald’s to check on the problem.

The owner, Dan Brown, of that McDonald’s said the cleaning fluid ended up in the latte because one of the workers hooked the cleaning fluid line up to the milk line in the latte machine.

Brown says he’s retraining workers on how to use the cleaning fluid line properly while also placing signs throughout, instructing workers that the cleaning fluid line should not be attached to the milk line in the latte machine.

Yeah, y’all may want to stay away from Mickey Ds for a while. They got issues.
